Intersection closes after Greenville crash

GREENVILLE, SC — One person was taken to the hospital after a two-car crash Friday morning in downtown Greenville.

A police spokesman said the crash happened at West McBee Avenue and River Street after a driver failed to yield.

One car flipped over in the wreck. Police say a driver was taken to the hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

The area near the intersection has been closed while crews clean up a gas leak from one of the vehicles in the accident.

Police estimate that crews should finish cleaning the leak by 10:50 a.m. Friday.
