GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – A man was arrested after Greenville County deputies say he intentionally crashed into a deputy’s patrol car during a chase.
Darren Sullivan was charged by Greenville County with attempted murder, failure to stop for blue lights, possession of cocaine, and receiving stolen goods.
Deputies say they tried to stop a stolen Chevrolet Cobalt near Frontage Road and Jacobs Road. After deputies forced the driver, identified as Darren Sullivan, to stop, they say Sullivan crashed into one deputy’s patrol car.
The deputy was forced to dive back into his patrol car to avoid being hit by the suspect’s car, according to the sheriff’s office
Deputies then followed the car to Anderson Road when the car hit an SUV and a pickup truck, ending the chase.
Deputies say they then arrested the driver of the car, Darren Sullivan.
Sullivan was denied bond on Saturday and remains in the Greenville County Detention Center.
Sullivan was also charged with kidnapping, malicious injury to property, first-degree burglary, grand larceny, and first-degree domestic violence for unrelated charges from the city of Greenville.
