GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA)- An 8-year-old was bitten by a boa constrictor in Greenville, Monday.
The snake owner was allowing people to pet and hold his “Columbian Red Tailed Boa” snake on South Main Street, according to Greenville Police.
When the victim held the snake, it bit him on the forearm, reports say. The snake is non-venomous and the child was treated by EMS on scene for the bite, police say.
Animal control was contacted and it was decided that there was no reason to kill the snake, reports say.
