HAYWOOD CO., NC (WSPA) – Haywood Co. deputies said a man accused of shooting a man with a shotgun after a fight was apprehended Wednesday.
His capture came just days after deputies called on the public for help finding Joshua Douglas Phillips.
Deputies say they responded to a shooting call on Raby Street near Canton on Sunday.
Officers say two men had been in a fight at a home there.
One of the men pulled out a shotgun and fired it.
The victim had minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
They say the suspect – later identified as Phillips – left the scene in a primer gray Nissan pickup truck with an orange driver’s door.
Deputies say Joshua Douglas Phillips, 26, is wanted for: feloniously discharging a weapon into occupied property, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, misdemeanor damage to real property and possession of firearm by a felon.
Phillips was apprehended around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
