UPDATE 10:15 p.m. — Two brothers, Michael Chaplin and Matthew Chaplin, are in custody once again after escaping the Dorchester County Jail Friday morning. Police are still searching for a third escapee, Donald Little (pictured).
GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCBD) — A large amount of police vehicles are currently stationed behind Big Lots retail store on St. James Avenue in Goose Creek. Officials confirm it is related to the three inmates who escaped Friday morning, but no other information is available at this time.
Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputies are on scene along with EMS.
Reports into our newsroom say several roads in the area are blocked off, and there is also a large law enforcement presence in the Foxborough neighborhood.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources assisted in a search Saturday for Donald Little, Michael Chaplin and Matthew Chaplin. Authorities say the search began after a police chase involving the escapees in a stolen truck. Officials say that pursuit ended near the power line embankment near mile marker 204.
As of late Saturday night, The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office suspended their search efforts for the night, but deputies were still actively patrolling the area.
