ANDERSON, SC (WSPA) – Anderson County deputies have arrested a man they say broke into 6 different places in that county from May 4 through June 26.
30-year-old James Michael Burton has been charged with three counts of third degree Burglary, two counts of second degree Burglary, one count of first degree Burglary, Trespassing, and Breaking into a Motor Vehicle.
Deputies say Burton stole electronics from a home on Pollard Drive on May 4, a cash register from the US Post Office on South Main Street on May 20, and $45 worth of candy from a Dollar General on S. Main Street on May 22.
Deputies also say Burton stole two televisions and a gun from the 4 Hermanos Restaurant on South Murray Avenue on May 31st and a laptop, bank cards, and checks from Winks Garage on West Moore Street on June 21.
According to deputies, Burton broke into farm equipment and tried to get into a warehouse on the property of Southern States Farm Equipment on West Murray Avenue on June 26.
Burton is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Center on $60,460 bond.
Detectives say they are trying to determine if Burton is involved in any other unsolved burglaries in the area.
