ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — A repeat drunk driver who’s been on the news before is the subject of another story.
Police say a drunken Rayburn Apache was behind the wheel Friday night near Central and 98th.
Eyewitnesses say the 43-year-old almost wrecked into other cars, then suddenly struck a pole.
Officers say Apache wreaked of alcohol, could hardly stand or walk, and refused to cooperate.
Last September, police say Apache was driving a stolen truck when he smashed into a truck at Central and Zuni.
That vehicle then hit and injured an Albuquerque police officer.
In court Saturday the judge laid into Apache and set his bond at $50,000 cash or surety.
