WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police say a 17-year-old man drowned late Thursday night or early Friday morning after being left at an apartment complex pool. It happened at the Horizons East Apartments.
The 17-year-old man was found by maintenance people in the bottom of the pool.
Police learned the teen went to the pool with three other teenage girls. They were swimming late into the night.
“During that time, the girls noticed the victim at the bottom of the pool, and after checking on him and finding him deceased, they left the scene because they were scared,” said Sgt. Nikki Woodrow, Wichita Police Department.
Officials say none of the teens lived at the complex. So far, his name isn’t being released. Police say no arrests have been made.
