New Jamaican Lounge Holding “Upstate’s Got Talent” Competition

Just a few months after opening Jamaican restaurant and venue space “Island Vibes on Main,” Kingston native Dennis Phillips and Spartanburg native Pamela Sartar have opened doors to an attached bar, the “Ochos Rios Lounge.” Serving authentic island cocktails and live music, the space is holding an “Upstate’s Got Talent” competition with an all expenses paid trip to Jamaica as the grand prize. Jennifer Martin gives us a look inside.

There are four talent categories: Instrumentals which consists of a solo act or a small group or band of 5 people or less, Comedians, Poetry or Spoken word, and Vocalist which consist of a solo act or a small group or band of 5 people or less. Eight contestants will be chosen to compete in each talent category. To enter the contest, contestants should send a 3 minute long video to islandvibesonmain@gmail.com no later than July 18th, 2016.
