SPARTANBURG (WSPA) – Carolina Panthers training camp is underway in Spartanburg.
With thousands of fans pouring into the Upstate, local businesses are cashing in on the crowds.
Many restaurants see a spike in diners grabbing a bite to eat before or after camp. They also see an increase in out-of-town fans visiting the Upstate for the first time.
Hotel rooms are also booked months in advance, and fill nearly to capacity.
Some businesses will offer discounts to fans who come in with their Panthers gear.
Business owners say after the amazing season the Panthers had in 2015, more fans than ever are visiting the Upstate for training camp.
This year, more than 100,000 fans are expected to attend training camp, bringing in an estimated $10 million for the county.
