1 dead, 2 hurt in head-on crash in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE, CO. (WSPA) – Troopers say an elderly man and woman suffered serious injuries and one woman was killed in a head-on crash Sunday afternoon.

Troopers say the crash happened at 1:04 pm on Highway 11 about two miles south of Landrum. The Coroner’s Office lists the cross street as Gosnell Farmer Road.

The Greenville County Coroner says 60-year-old Beverly McAbee Page died at Greenville Memorial Hospital from her injuries.

Troopers say Page, the driver of a 2002 Ford Mustang, was driving north on Highway 11 when she crossed the center line and struck a 2003 Buick head on.

A 73-year-old Inman man was behind the wheel of the Buick. He was trapped and had to be freed from the car. Troopers say he was airlifted to Mission Hospital in Asheville for treatment. A 79-year-old woman in the car with him was taken by EMS to Spartanburg Medical Center for treatment. Both of them were wearing a seat belt.

Highway Patrol says Page was not wearing a seat belt and troopers say she was trapped in the car.
