ANDERSON COUNTY (WSPA) – One man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Sunday morning.

The Anderson County coroner says the crash happened on Cely Lane at 5:20 a.m., but the victim was not discovered until an hour later.

The coroner has identified the victim as 46-year-old David Miles.

The coroner says Miles was headed to Lake Keowee when he crashed just one mile from his home.

Miles went into a curve, lost control of the bike, and went off the right side of the road. The coroner says Miles was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a tree.

Officials with the S.C.Highway Patrol say the victim was not wearing a helmet when the crash happened.

Coroner Greg Shore said Miles suffered neck and chest trauma.
