ANDERSON, SC (WSPA) – Two people have been charged in connection with a murder of a woman Saturday night in Anderson Co.
Deputies say it happened just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Russell Street near Hayes Road.
The coroner says 38-year-old Jennifer Poore was shot and taken to AnMed where she later died.
The coroner says Poore died from a single gunshot wound.
23-year-old Chevis Jake Morris and 21-year-old Jordan Michaela Hart are charged with murder and are being held at the Anderson County Detention Center.
Investigators charged 23-year-old Chevis Jake Morris with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime and Murder.
21-year-old Jordan Michaela Hart was charged with Accessory After the Fact of Murder.
The two were also charged with First Degree Burglary and Grand Larceny for offenses committed while on the run after the slaying.
They are accused of breaking into a home on Hall Road in Anderson, and stealing a vehicle belonging to the resident.
Morris is also facing a separate charge of Grand Larceny for stealing a different vehicle during the first week of July.
There was no word on the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
Deputies say they located and arrested Morris and Hart at a home on Mt. Church Creed Road on Sunday.
No other arrests are expected, according to the sheriff’s office.
