GREENVILE, SC (WSPA) – A firefighter has been hurt while fighting the fire at Shemwood Crossing Apartments in Greenville according to Greenville Fire Department.
They say the firefighter had heat exhaustion.
The fire was at 100 Shemwood Lane.
Greenville City Fire Department responded to the blaze.
The fire damaged three apartments. One by fire and two others by smoke.
American Red Cross disaster-trained volunteers assisted 3 families, consisting of 3 adults and 13 children, when their homes were destroyed by the fire.
The Red Cross is helping the residents by providing services to meet their immediate needs, including comfort kits containing personal hygiene items, as well as financial assistance for temporary lodging, and referrals to partner agencies to assist with their long-term recovery.
