Trooper crashes at 70 mph during chase in Jonesville

JONESVILLE (WSPA) A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper is all right after deputies say he crashed during a chase in Union County.

The trooper was traveling around 70 miles per hour when he crashed on Tinsley Road in Jonesville Monday afternoon according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident report says the trooper was chasing a car around 5:30 p.m. The trooper lost control of his car as he rounded a curve in the 300 block of Tinsley Road and struck a ditch.

The SCHP car suffered approximately $3,500 worth of damage according to the report. There is no indication the trooper was injured in the accident.
