GREENWOOD, SC (WSPA) – A woman says she had her clothes ripped off after a man dragged her by her dress outside New Haven Apartments in Greenwood.

The incident happened on July, 17. The suspect, Thaddeus Leon Devlin, 39, was arrested on August 17.

When police got there, the victim was lying on her stomach in the middle of the road, according to the report.

They say Devlin ran off towards the creek line behind the apartments.

The victim says she and Devlin were at her friend’s house and started arguing.

She said he was drinking and “started acting crazy” so she left, according to the report.

She caught a ride to the apartments to see her son.

Before she could make it to the door, Devlin came from behind her and started “going crazy,” according to the report.

She said she tried to run away, but he grabbed her by the dress and started dragging her down the street.

They were torn off of her, she said.

She says she dropped down and covered her head when he started kicking her.

Police say she had scraps and abrasions.

The report says she also refused to sign a victim’s form and became uncooperative when officers tried to take photos of her injuries.

Devlin has a prior conviction for domestic violence.

Police are seeking a warrant for Thaddeus Devlin for Domestic Violence 2nd Degree.
