SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A former teacher at Laurens High School has been arrested after Surfside Beach Police charged him for a recent string of residential and vehicle burglaries.
Bion Legrand Shoemaker III has been charged with three counts of second degree burglary to a residence and one count of auto breaking.
According to police, those burglaries happened over the past several months.
Shoemaker is listed as a teacher on St. James High School’s website. Horry County Schools Public Information Officer Teal Hardin said via email that Shoemaker has been placed on administrative leave.
Surfside Beach Police Chief Rodney Keziah said, “We are pleased to be able to recover some of the victim’s property in these cases. This is still a very fluid investigation. We anticipate recovering more property and possibly making additional charges.”
