WESTBROOK, MAINE (WFLA) – A huge shed snake skin was found in a park in Westbrook, Maine Saturday afternoon.
Westbrook Police posted the photo of the skin on their Facebook page. According to the post, a citizen reported the skin around 3 p.m. Saturday. The skin was found along the Presumpscot River near the carry-in boat launch in the area of Riverbank Park.
Westbrook PD responded to the area and photographed the skin before collecting it. It will be examined by specialists to determine what type of a snake it is and if there is a public safety risk.
While officers work to determine that, they’ve asked people to be cautious and to maintain a safe distance from any wildlife in the area.
