That’s right, today is National Waffle Day!
Waffles originated around the 14th century, but the first U.S. patent for a waffle iron was issued to a man in Troy, New York on August 24, 1869.
Apparently, an anonymous man penned the first-known waffle recipe as a set of instructions for his wife.
