ENOREE, SC – The man accused of stealing a truck and leading 3 Upstate sheriff’s offices on a chase is still on the run, Wednesday.
Tallie Dwayne Avinger, 47, has been charged with the following in Laurens Co.:
1. Grand larceny-this was taken out before yesterday incident.
2. Failure to stop for blue lights.
3. Driving under suspension.
The incident happened Tuesday afternoon and the hunt for him in a wooded area of Enoree was called off last night, according to Sheriff David Taylor.
Taylor says it started in Laurens, continued into Union Co. and then into Spartanburg Co.
The search ended in the woods near Highway 56 in Enoree.
Laurens Co. Sheriff Ricky Chastain says a deputy had ran the tag on a red truck and it came back stolen.
The deputy tried to stop the truck, but he left the scene in the car and then got out and ran.
