SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) — A Spartanburg County man is accused of slamming a pregnant woman’s head into the console of a car in front of her two young children.
Russell Tyger Dover, 24, of Cowpens has been charged with first-degree domestic violence.
Spartanburg police responded around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to a report that a woman had been assaulted by her live-in boyfriend and father of her child.
The victim told police that she and Dover were at First Citizens Bank at 305 N. Church Street where she refused to give Dover her pin number and said that he threatened to beat her, then grabbed her hair and slammed her head into the console in front of a 3-year-old and 1-year-old. The woman said after she got out of the car, Dover tried to run over her. She ran towards the Marriott where he followed her before someone stopped to help, according to a police report.
Dover ran away from the scene with the victim’s purse, the report states. He was booked into jail on Wednesday and remained in custody as of Thursday night.
