(WSPA)— Police charged three juveniles with over 60 breaking and entering incidents, according to the Asheville Police Department.
Officers say they responded to River Ridge Apartments after they received reports of three suspicious people checking car door handles in the parking lot of the complex.
While officers were on scene they found the suspects, all juveniles, and took them into custody, according to the Asheville Police Department.
Two of the suspects admitted to over 60 incidents of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and two incident of breaking and entering of a commercial building.
These incidents occurred within the past month in East Asheville.
All three suspects said they walked through parking lots and checked door handles until they find unlocked doors, reports say.
The Asheville Police Department encourages everyone to lock their vehicle and place all valuable items in the trunk, out of plain sight.
