Man wins $1M lottery on lunch break, back at work next day

GREER, S.C. (WSPA)- Patrick Wesley stopped by a convenient store on his way to work for a $10 lottery ticket and ended up winning a $1 million prize.

The South Carolina Education Lottery says Wesley bought the Black Ice Millions ticket at the Scotchman on Line Street in Greer Wednesday morning.

He was on his way into work at a carpentry shop. He was on a break when he actually scratched off the ticket and realized he won the $1 million prize.

“I screamed,” he told lottery officials.

The SC Education Lottery says he left work and immediately drove to Columbia to claim his cash.

Wesley told them this is a life changer. And he’s going to start with buying a new house.

The Scotchman convenience store will receive a $10,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
