Olive Garden Feeds First Responders On Labor Day

First responders across the Upstate got a free lunch today thanks to a national restaurant chain.

Olive Garden served a catered meal to police and first responders in Greenville and Spartanburg Monday afternoon.

7 News was at the Greenville Police Department as servers surprised officers with the spread. The meal included lasagna breadsticks and salad. Officers were taken by surprise at the gesture.

“We didn’t know this was coming,” said Greenville Police Sergeant Nathan Overholt. “We got a call from dispatch saying there was food here and that was a surprise.”

The Orlando-based restaurant chain has been feeding first responders for 15 years as part of it’s annual Labor Day Program.
