Southern Conference Commissioner John Iamarino told 7 Sports Wednesday afternoon that the league will hold a conference call at some point next week to discuss any action it may take regarding three conference championships this year.
The move was prompted by the ACC’s decision to pull it’s seven league championships scheduled this year for the Tar Heel state as opposition to North Carolina’s so-called Bathroom Bill.
The SoCon had initially planned to have such discussions at an October meeting.
Monday, the NCAA removed seven championship events for this year from the state.
The Southern Conference has scheduled its men’s soccer championship, men’s and women’s basketball championships, and men’s golf championship for North Carolina this year.
