ANDERSON, SC (WSPA)— An Anderson Co. man was shot in the leg Wednesday morning, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested William Thomas Gurley, 46, of Anderson after a shooting incident on Austin Drive.
Deputies say Gurley shot his neighbor in the leg over a prior argument.
According to the incident report, Gurly held the victim, Jeremy Eugene Branyon, 37, at gun point for over an hour and would not let him leave the residence.
Gurley faces kidnapping, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Gurley is currently incarcerated at the Anderson County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
The victim, Branyon, was taken by Medshore ambulance to AnMed Health Hospital for treatment. When he was released, Branyon was arrested based on an outstanding bench warrant.
The reason for the shooting is still under investigation.
