ANDERSON CO. (WSPA) — A Fair Play woman has been charged with attempted murder after deputies say she attacked another woman during an argument over drugs.
Deputies responded to a stabbing at 3504 Old Dobbins Bridge Road at 9:27 a.m. Friday. The victim, a 24-year-old woman, was taken by ambulance to a hospital with a severe cut to her upper abdomen, deputies say.
Tonya Smith Hise, 39, is the woman accused of stabbing her.
Deputies say the two women are acquaintances. Investigators determined that Hise stabbed the victim during an argument over the theft of missing prescription drugs.
The victim’s injury is not considered life threatening.
Hise was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center Friday afternoon.
