SPARTANBURG CO., SC (WSPA) – A woman is charged with child neglect for allegedly letting her 1-year-old crawl on dirty floors and wander outside of a well known drug house on Hammett Store Rd. in Lyman, according to deputies.

Deputies says they got a call that several people were trespassing on the property.

The caller said that Brian Stewart, a wanted person with outstanding Grand Larceny warrants, was in the home the night before and had appeared to have forced his way in.

Deputies say Tanna Campbell came out of the home with her baby when they got there.

They could hear other people in the house and asked if Stewart, Campbell’s boyfriend, was in the home.

She said “no” and that it was her two friends, according to the report.

Deputies say two women with past drug charges were hiding in the bathroom.

The deputy says Campbell allowed the child crawl on the dirty, sticky floor and go outside without supervision.

They say the front screen door didn’t close properly and the child pushed its way outside.

The child had a bad cough and very runny nose and only wearing a diaper, according to the deputy.

They say the child was also very dirty.

The child was taken into protective custody because the child was in a known drug house with known drug users, according to the deputy.

The deputy says they also found several Acetaminophen/ Hydrocodone pulls in Campbell’s purse.

She is charged with Child Neglect and Possession Controlled Substance.
