WALHALLA, SC (WSPA)- A husband and wife are in jail, accused of growing and distributing marijuana.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Joshua Richard Dills and 29-year-old Shera Lynn Dills were arrested Thursday night.
Deputies say they spotted some marijuana plants on the Dills’ property on Baileys Mountain Drive from the sheriff’s office helicopter.
Narcotics agents and deputies then went to the home. They say Joshua Dills at first refused to come out but later obeyed their commands and he was arrested.
After obtaining a search warrant, the agents searched the home and property and say they found marijuana plants and marijuana inside, including some ready for distribution.
They also found guns and drug paraphernalia.
Sherra Dills was not home at the time but deputies say they arrested her a couple hours later.
Both Dills are charged with Manufacturing Marijuana- 1st Offense and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana- 1st Offense.
They remain in jail pending a bond hearing.
Deputies say both charges are felonies that carry up to five years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine per charge, if convicted.
