Reserved parking spots for wounded veterans in Fountain Inn

FOUNTAIN INN, SC (WSPA) – At every city building across Fountain Inn, there are designated parking spaces for the veterans wounded in combat.

Purple Heart Parking SignThe organization Wounded Warriors Family Support has donated the signs to cities across the country for the 1.8 million Purple Heart recipients.

Leaders in Fountain Inn jumped on board said Byron Rucker, Director of Economic Development.

“It’s not a very involved and complicated move to do, but it means a lot to a lot of people,” Rucker explained. “It’s very well deserved and will make a big impact.”

Rucker says Fountain Inn is one of the first to put the signs up in the Upstate. He hopes even more towns will follow their lead.

A local business is donating their time and supplies to paint the parking spots purple.
