ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – An early morning chase ended with an arrest after the suspect crashed a stolen car into a Honea Path Police car, say officials.
32-year-old Quincy Jonathan Wilson of Greenville was charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Driving Under Suspension, and Violation of the Open Container Law.
Deputies say they spotted Wilson driving a black Scion at a high speed and driving recklessly, occasionally driving into opposing traffic around 4am.
When they tried to stop the car, the driver sped up and tried to flee.
Investigators say Wilson lost control of the car in Honea Path and struck the driver’s side door of a Honea Path police car. Wilson then ran away before he was taken into custody a short time later, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
A Honea Path officer was treated for a leg injury from the crash by EMS.
Wilson was taken to the Anderson County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
