Funeral for fallen Shelby officer Tim Brackeen

SHELBY, N.C. (WSPA) – Several law enforcement agencies from the Upstate and WNC will be attending a fallen Shelby Police officer’s funeral Friday at 3:00 p.m.

The funeral will be held at Shelby High School’s Keeter Stadium.

The Blacksburg Police Department will be sending 6 officers to the funeral.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office are sending 10 deputies.

Deputies from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office will also be attending.

The Greenville Police Department says 9 of their officers are going.

Officer Tim Brackeen was allegedly shot by 23-year-old Irving Fenner on Saturday, September 10th.

Police said Brackeen was attempting to arrest Fenner, who was wanted on outstanding robbery and kidnapping charges.

Brackeen died from his injuries on Monday, September 12th.
