TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — More virtual doctors are ready for your next appointment across Tampa Bay. BayCareAnywhere gives you 24/7 access to a live doctor so that you can get on the fast track to getting better.
“We have pediatricians, family medicine, ER doctors, urgent care available on the site. You can go ahead and click on a specific doctor and that starts your visit immediately,” said Dr. Eilene Weibley, with Baycare Medical Group.
Weibley sees patients at her Bay Care Medical Group Allendale office in St. Petersburg, but is also willing to make virtual house calls.
“You can see your doctor from your home in the middle of the night, on the weekends,” she said.
Tele-medicine has been talked about for years, but is now more readily available than ever before and extremely convenient for patients.
“We have pediatricians, family medicine, ER doctors, urgent care available on the site,” said Weibley.
She went on to explain, if you know how to use a computer, tablet or smartphone, it’s incredibly user friendly.
“You can go ahead and click on a specific doctor and that starts your visit immediately,” she said.
Because doctors can see you through a webcam or the camera in your smart device they can diagnose similar illnesses that would get screen during a regular checkup. “Colds, low grade fevers, sore throats, rashes, even ankle sprains,” said Dr. Weibley.
Weibley explained that if you don’t have to have an established relationship with a Baycare doctor to use the BayCareAnywhere, but if you do doctors would have access to all of your medical records making the virtual visit that much easier. Doctors can also prescribe medications electronically during your session.
