Two people hurt after police chase, crash in Spartanburg Co.

DUNCAN, SC (WSPA)— A juvenile and another person are hurt after a hit-and-run crash led to a brief police chase and ended with a crash into a tree in Spartanburg County, deputies say.

The chase ended on Berry Shoals Road by Tucapau Road in Duncan around 4:30 a.m.

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies say the driver took a relative’s vehicle without consent.

After taking the vehicle, the driver backed into another vehicle before driving away, deputies say.

When deputies spotted the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash, a brief chase began, officials say.

The chase ended when the driver veered off the road and struck a tree, deputies say.

The driver is facing charges once the investigation is complete.
