GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – A Greenville family will be receiving a new roof from Roof Roof, an Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Preferred Contractor, as a part of Owens Corning’s national Roof Deployment Project.
The company is donating roofing materials and labor as a sign of gratitude for our soldiers.
Specialist Aaron Barrett, who has been a firefighter in in the South Carolina Army National Guard for over 6 years, will have a new roof installed on September 23rd.
“Owens Corning is truly proud to give back to Specialist Barrett, his family and the military community through The Roof Deployment Project,” said Bill Mabry, Contractor Network Leader, Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt. “Many military families face added stress with having a loved one away from home and Owens Corning’s and our network of Platinum Preferred Contractors are stepping up to help these families.”
Specialist Barrett and his family bought their home two years ago, but have been experiencing leaks after some severe hail damage.
“This program is very personal to me and I’m proud we’re able to give back to our local military community through the Roof Deployment Project,” said Jon Sabo, the owner and operator of Roof Roof. “I served in the Marine Corp before beginning a career in real estate and construction so I understand first-hand the impact it can have on someone’s family and life at home.”
Soldiers are often away from home for long periods of time and, as a result, it can easily take a toll on their families.
Household responsibilities can cause a lot of stress for those military spouses and families.
