PICKENS (WSPA) – Pickens High School head football coach John Boggs was relieved of his duties on Wednesday morning.

Boggs will be replaced as head coach of the Blue Flame by Chad Seaborn according to Pickens County School District spokesman John Eby.

The story was first reported by The Greenville News. Eby says Boggs will remain as a faculty member at Pickens High School where he teaches math.

Boggs was in his second season as the head coach at Pickens. The team is 1-3 heading into Friday night’s game at Seneca.

Pickens posted a record of 4-7 in Boggs’ one complete season in 2014.

Seaborn is a former head coach at Pickens High School. He served in that job from 2009-2014.
