ANDERSON, SC (WSPA) Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man in connection with a 2013 armed robbery.
Rodriqious Desha Hardy, 25, of Anderson, is accused of robbing Dalton Carpets, on Highway 28 by-pass, on November 5, 2013.
Deputies say the Hardy and a co-conspirator entered the store and demanded money. The store manager and an employee say they were forced to the ground at gunpoint while the suspects took money from the store register, reports say.
After the robbery, both suspects ran into a nearby wooded area. While they were running away, deputies say they removed their hooded pullovers they were wearing and left them in the woods. A K-9 Tracking Team located the clothing, Forensic investigators later processed the abandoned hooded, one of which reveal a DNA match to Hardy. Warrants were issued for his arrest.
On September 20, Hardy was located in Pickens County and taken into custody, deputies say.
Deputies took Hardy to the Anderson County Detention Center and he is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of failure to appear in court.
He is held on a $30,000 surety bond, deputies say.
Deputies say they are still looking for another suspect in this case.
