GoFundMe account fulfilled for child shot at Townville Elementary

GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – UPDATE: The GoFundMe page set up for Jacob by his family has been fulfilled and is no longer accepting donations.

One of two children injured in Wednesday’s shooting at Townville Elementary is still in critical condition at a hospital in Greenville.

6-year-old Jacob Hall was taken to the Greenville Memorial Hospital after the shooting Wednesday afternoon.

In a statement from Greenville Health System, they say Jacob had massive blood loss after being shot in the leg which hit his femoral artery. He has undergone several surgeries to try to stabilize his condition, according to Dr. Keith Webb.

Hall’s family released a statement Thursday evening concerning the condition of Jacob:

Jacob is a very sick little boy and is fighting for his life. Due to the massive blood loss he has sustained a major brain injury. Jacob is in very critical condition, and we are hanging on every second.

Please continue to pray for Jacob and the other victims of this horrible, senseless act. Thank you all for respecting our family as we prepare for the days ahead.

We want to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses and to Travis Page for starting the GoFundMe page so Jacob’s family can spend every moment they can with him. We also want to thank Pastor David Blizzard and Associate Pastor Tim Marcengill with Oakdale Baptist Church.

God Bless You All,
The Bridges, Gambrell and Hall families

Hall’s parents released a statement Wednesday evening through the hospital thanking the community for their support and prayers.

“We appreciate the community’s support, especially the Townville Rescue Squad who treated Jacob onsite and brought him to the hospital,” said Rodger and Renae Hall, “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and ask for privacy during this difficult time.”

They will be shutting down the GoFundMe page soon.

From Jacob Hall’s go fund me page: “First off, i want to thank all who have shown compassion and donated to help jacob and his family. I will be deleting the campaign shortly. Yall have been such a tremendous help but the amount has reached is enough to take care of any expenses and time missed from work. Thank you again for you sympathy and generousity during this time of crisis and God bless you all!!Just wanted to add that if need be, we ll start another campaign but im sure it wont be necessay!! Thanks again and God bless you all!!”
