MARION CO., SC (WSPA) – A county code enforcement officer was among two men charged in connection with the killing of 14 shelter cats in South Carolina.
SLED charged 51-year-old Marion Dan Richardson with Misconduct in Office and Animal Euthanasia Article Violation and 33-year-old Henry Oliver Rogers with Animal Euthanasia Article Violation.
Richardson, a Marion County Code Enforcement Officer, and Rogers went to the Marion County Animal Shelter to pick up 14 cats to be given to a farmer, according to the warrants.
The warrants say the two took the cats to a landfill where Richardson shot and killed them.
Both were booked into the Marion County Detention Center.
