ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – Deputies have arrested a 17-year-old after they say he removed the victim’s clothes and forced him into a cheerleading uniform.
Bradley Kade Clardy, 17, has been charged with third-degree assault and battery for the incident that deputies say happened on Sept. 16.
According to an arrest warrant, the 14-year-old victim was assaulted during school hours at the Wren High School Football Stadium fieldhouse/multi-purpose room.
District One Superintendent David Havird says the district has cooperated with law enforcement and that the “student misconduct has been fully addressed consistent with District policy and procedure.”
Havird also says that, “We wish to make clear that Anderson School District One does not and will not tolerate harassment, hazing or bullying of students of any kind.”
7News has learned that multiple players have been suspended or dismissed from the football team as a result of the incident.
Clardy was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center on Friday and released on bond.
