Cabela’s opened the company’s first outdoor shop in the Upstate in April of 2014 in Greenville along Woodruff Road.
During that same month, Bass Pro Shops announced they would be bringing a store to Spartanburg County along Interstate 85 and Highway 101.
The Bass Pro Shop groundbreaking was delayed, originally schedule for September of 2015. The project was expected to build a 120,000-square foot store, along with restaurants and hotels.
Spartanburg Councilman David Britt, says while he is not surprised about the business deal, he doesn’t believe this will affect the eventual Bass Pro store at the Highway 101 location.
