Road blocked, hundreds without power after pole hit in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) — Hundreds were without power and East Main Street was shut down Tuesday after a power line was struck.

Police say that construction equipment hit the top of a power pole. One line is across the road and caused power outages.

Duke Energy reported that about 920 customers in the area were without power Tuesday afternoon.

As of 7:50 p.m., 162 customers were still without power. Duke Energy expects power to be restored by midnight. Traffic is being detoured through the parking lot of Tractor Supply at 2091 E. Main St.
