Troopers investigate hit-and-run after cyclist hurt in Union Co. crash

UNION, S.C. (WSPA) – Troopers are investigating a hit-and-run after a cyclist was struck in Union County.

The crash happened around 2:10 p.m. Thursday.

A 64-year-old Spartanburg man was riding a bicycle west on Buffalo West Springs Highway when troopers say he was struck and thrown from the bike. Troopers say the cyclist, who was wearing a helmet, suffered injuries in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle that struck him was also headed west. After the crash, troopers say the driver left the scene.

Troopers are looking for a late model four door Sedan, dark in color with large chrome rims. The vehicle will have right side damage and will be missing the passenger side mirror.
