COLUMBIA, SC (WSPA) – Governor Nikki Haley is expected to update the media on the impacts of Hurricane Matthew in South Carolina.
Matthew is a category 2 hurricane and has sustained winds of 110 MPH as of 5pm.
Coastal areas of South Carolina are expected to get the worst of the storm late Friday night and early Saturday morning.
Hundreds of thousands have been evacuated from the Lowcountry in anticipation of the storm. Up to a foot of rain, several feet of storm surge, and hurricane force winds are possible with the storm.
