Weekend Happenings, Cancellations: October 7-8

(WSPA)— If you still haven’t picked a pumpkin, head over to Denver Downs in Anderson for their Pumpkin Festival. After the pumpkin patch you can check out this awesome ten acre corn maze. They’ll have barn animals, a hayride and a pumpkin pie eating contest. It’s happening tomorrow and Sunday. Ticket prices vary depending on which activities you’d like to participate in but range around $15 to $30.

Camp out and enjoy a weekend of live music for the Albino Skunk Festival. It’s happening at a former farm on Jordan Road in Greer. The festival started yesterday but continues today and tomorrow. Entrance prices range depending on how many days you stick around. The camping fee is $30 per car. They’ll have over 20 different bands. Bring your own food and drinks or try out the food trucks and craft beer on site.

You can watch a live painting competition tomorrow at Haywood Mall with Art Slam Live. Switching it up from the traditional studio or gallery setting, six talented artists will compete on stage creating their best work and will be judge based on the audience applause. They’ll have a DJ and a live performance by former American idol contestant Greyson Turner. The event is free.

Carowinds will be closed on Friday, October 7 due to the threat of inclement weather. Any tickets originally purchased for Friday evening will be extended for use through Sunday, October 23.

They say they will monitor the weather conditions in the region to determine park operation for Saturday, October 8. For up-to-the-minute updates, you can click here.

Due to the high wind advisories issued throughout the Upstate, the TD Saturday Market will not be held on Saturday, Oct. 8. There also will be no market on Saturday, Oct. 15, due to the Belk Fall for Greenville festival.
