High Point Academy to relocate playground after Townville Elem. shooting

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – An Upstate school is changing where its students play after the Townville Elementary school shooting.

High Point Academy is moving its playground out of safety concerns.

School officials made the announcement at Tuesday’s board meeting.

Right now it’s in the parking lot but it will now be moved to the side of the building.

School officials say they want to make it less accessible to vehicles. And, if there’s any kind of incident the new location makes it easier for students to run to safety.
