It’s a fundraiser that’s been months in the making, Hub City Empty Bowls is happening Saturday, October 15, 2016.
The event is held at the Chapman Cultural Center where supporters will pick out a bowl. They donation amount is $15.
The community is welcomed to choose their favorite gourmet soup or dish provided by one of dozens of local restaurants.
Cribbs Kitchen tells 7 News they will bring corn chowder and Willy Taco will bring about 20 gallons of chicken tortilla soup just to name a couple.
All proceeds will go toward covering costs of the event and to Total Ministries Spartanburg.
Last year, Hub City Empty Bowls donated $26,000 to TOTAL Ministries.
Carolina Clay Artists has spearheaded Hub City Empty Bowls for 8 years and the potters have raised tens of thousands of dollars to help feed people in Spartanburg County.
The bowls have been glazed and fired by volunteers and will be displayed in Spartanburg Art Museum at Chapman on Soup Day.
