ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – A man has died after a crash in Anderson County involving a moped.
52-year-old Robert Wayne Gaines of Starr died at the scene just before 5:45pm when he was struck by a car on a moped.
His family told the coroner’s office that the moped was recently repairs and he was taking it out for a ride.
Highway Patrol says Gaines was driving east on Doris McGill Jones Road and tried to make a left turn on to Middleton Road when he was struck by a car.
The 17-year-old driver of the car was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to the hospital for his injuries.
