TRYON, NC (WSPA) – Deputies in Polk County have charged a man with taking indecent liberties with a child and setting fire to a home after a domestic dispute near Tryon.
34-year-old Ascencion Ramirez was charged with three counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child, two counts of Assault, two counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, second degree Arson, and domestic Criminal Trespass.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Ramirez set fire to a home on Champion Road after a domestic dispute on September 22.
Deputies also say that there was a separate ongoing investigation at the time of the fire which resulted in the child sex crime charges.
Ramirez was being held in jail on $80,000 bond.
