Clemson students, alumni celebrate homecoming

CLEMSON, S.C. (WSPA) – It’s Homecoming week at Clemson University and this weekend thousands of students and alumni will pack Death Valley for their game against NC State.

All this week, students have been working around the clock on Bowman Field to build the massive, elaborate floats from tissue paper and chicken wire.

“We put in a lot of work I think it turned out really well,” said student Blake Washburn.

Greek organizations on campus teamed up to plan and build the floats. Some students haven’t slept in days, trying to finish up the work, explained student Kourtney Parent. “Just coming out here from morning to night working on the float, making sure it looks perfect.”

The floats will be judged and every team is hoping to win the contest – and more importantly, the game this weekend.
